THE Bridgetown Bulldogs went down to flag favourites Imperials at Nannup on Saturday by 12 points.

Imperials got off to a flying start, kicking 7.3 to Bulldogs 4.3 in the first term.

Bulldogs then settled in the second term, taking control of the game, but inaccuracy had started to creep into their game.

Imperials held sway by the slenderest of margins, 10.4 to 9.9.

Bulldogs hit the lead briefly in the third term but the Imperials rallied to take the lead by five goals.

The Bulldogs attacked and attacked and, while they outplayed Imperials continuously, they couldn’t get enough majors on the board.

The final score was Imperials 19.9 to Bulldogs 15.21.

Better players for Bridgetown were Matt Giblett, Danny Schuers, Lewis Jetta, D Humby, Matt Watts and Ciran Lucey.

Next Saturday, June 21 Bridgetown will take on Kojonup at Bridgetown with veteran Stuart Waters playing his 100th league game.
