DONNYBROOK District High School’s year 10 Food and Hospitality students raised $237 for the Cancer Council last week.

The students used their hospitality skills for the first time by organising and running a morning tea at the Donnybrook Resource Centre.

The students made soup, scones, coffee and tea, set up the tables, served the food and manned the doors.

Members of the P&C organised a donation of milk and cream from Masters.

Hospitality teacher Matthew Harding said the class was putting into practise all of the facets of running a modern restaurant for the first time.

“The kids have done really well,” he said.

“They’re very professional and everyone was really pleased with the food and service.”

People from the school and the general community attended the morning tea.
