Quiz and auction night

15/05/2008 11:29:00 AM
A QUIZ and auction night to raise funds to help Donnybrook resident Sharon Jarvis on her way to the Paralympics is being held in the Masonic Hall, Donnybrook on Friday, June 6.

Sharon is the only West Australian in the equestrian team of five to represent Australia at the Paralympics and the only costs covered by the Paralympics Committee is for Sharon and her horse Odie to be flown from Melbourne to Hong Kong.

All other costs, including Odie’s transport from Perth to Bunyip, Melbourne and all costs while there, have to be covered by Sharon and her family.

Tables of eight are available for the quiz night at a cost of $10 per person.

A bar will be operating, so there will be strictly no BYO alcohol.

Nibblies and freshly-cooked hot chips will be provided for each table.

Dress is to be poor or bad taste and tragic, and anyone not wanting to join in the fun and come dressed as such will be fined $10.

A prize for the most poorly, bad taste or tragically dressed will be awarded.

Donnybrook businesses, as well as two residents from Kirup and Donnybrook, have been fantastic in donating items for the auction.

There are only four tables left to be booked, so anyone wanting to enjoy what is going to be a great night, or donate items for the auction, should call Pamela Harrison on 9731 1554.
